I read the original version of this when I was between 10 and 15 years old. My parents gave me Isaac Asimov to read because I was able to understand him. His brain and mine have the same "Operating System" and every question I would have would be answered in the next sentence. Perhaps this is true for everyone, but at my older age I have to wonder. Terrific book and the content has been with me so long I forget it is not part of most individual's general knowledge.I read this book about 30 years ago. I wish I had read it while in high school. An easy-to-follow discussion of what is actually a rigorous subject. Presented in an enjoyable story-like format. My wife also had the same reaction to this book when she read it long before we met. This copy was ordered to my daughter now taking a high school anatomy class.Azimov is best know as a science fiction writer. He wrote over 300 books in his lifetime, but I find his non fictional works to be the most fascinating and attention holding. I first read "The Human Brain" when I was in high school. I'm 68 now and was most anxious to re read this book in combination with "The human body." I think any reader will find his style illuminating and attention holding. Recommend for anyone who wishes to explore and understand more about ourselves. As a kid I read all of Asimov's books, including this book, in my local public library. Lost my copy somewhere along the way and finally was able to pick up another copy. Highly recommend.I had the paperbacks until they disintegrated. Medicine has moved on since Dr. Asimov passed, but it is still a layman-friendly introduction to our physical being. It’s greatI am amazed how Dr. Asimov can explain things so well! He has done it again in this very interesting book.Wonderful book. A bit old and outdated but still one of the best books to understand how human body works.
